Jacobs Family Honored With Named Reading Room in New Library
The Jacobs family was honored for its leadership gift to the capital campaign during a donor thank you reception held Friday, June 24, in the new library building.

From left, David, Anne, Melissa and Chris Jacobs were thanked Friday June 24 for their leadership gift to Mendon Public Library.
When phase 1 of the new library opens for regular operations on Monday June 27, you’ll be able to spend time in the Jacobs Family Reading Room, a cozy area on one side of the double fireplace. At the recommendation of the Friends of the Library and the Heart of our Town Capital campaign committee, this named room has been ratified by both the library board of trustees and the Mendon town board and will be memorialized by a plaque.
In accepting the recognition, Melissa Jacobs said the family’s gift was for the whole community and that she was grateful to be part of the library project. Melissa has been a member of the capital campaign committee since its inception.
David Jacobs said the new library would be good for our local economy, and also that the Jacobs family holds Honeoye Falls in their hearts.
Many thanks to Chris and Melissa Jacobs, Star Headlight and Lantern Company, and David and Anne Jacobs, for their generous support of Mendon Public Library.
