Barretts First to Buy Brick in Support of Library

Judi Barrett was also one of the organizers of the Memorial Day Flags, Books and Bands fund-raiser, supporting vets and the new library.

Thanks to Judi Barrett of Honeoye Falls for buying the first historic engraved brick in support of the new library! The bricks are being sold as part of this summer’s “Heart of our Town” community capital campaign, which launches opening day (Monday June 27) with an ice cream social at 7 p.m. at the library.

Barrett picked up her brick order form at Flags, Books and Bands, the Memorial Day fund-raiser she helped to organize. (You can get  an order form here or at the new library on Monday.)

The historic bricks being offered for engraving in support of the library project were once part of Main Street. Then they became part of the patio outside the Mantegna Furniture store and residence (the red barn formerly on the site of the new library building). Now they will take a special place in the library’s landscape.

A maximum of three lines of text, with up to 17 characters (including spaces and punctuation), are possible. The Barretts’ brick will say:

The Barretts
Tim, Judi and Emma

A first brick is $150; each additional brick is $100.
