Our thanks go out to longtime Mendon Public Library supporter Pittsford Federal Credit Union for sponsoring the Feb. 11 Heart Beats for Mendon event benefitting the Heart of our Town capital campaign for the new library building.

The event features the music of Gary Lewis and the Playboys, Steve Grills and the Roadmasters, light fare, and silent and live auctions. A pre-concert dinner with Gary Lewis will be held before the concert at the Rabbit Room in Honeoye Falls.

“Our support of the library project comes from our strong desire to offer assistance to the communities we serve, whenever possible,” says Pittsford FCU President/CEO Bill Martin. “We feel we have a responsibility to support other like-minded community organizations that also provide support and assistance to our community.”

The credit union–a not-for-profit financial cooperative–offers a full array of personal financial services–savings and checking, loans, credit and debit cards, and such electronic services as mobile banking and bill-pay. Anyone can join Pittsford FCU who lives, works, worships, volunteers, or attends school in the town or village of Pittsford, Mendon, Honeoye Falls, Lima, Avon, Brighton, E. Rochester, Henrietta, Perinton, Rush, East or West Bloomfield, or Victor–or who is an immediate relative or permanent household member of a current or eligible member.

Headquartered in the hamlet of Mendon, with an additional location on Tobey Village Road (at Route 65 and Jefferson Road) in Pittsford, the credit union also is delivering on its pledge to the library project of $10,000 over five years. This strong commitment makes the credit union a Founder-level donor. (See a full list of donors to the campaign.)

In addition, the credit union donated a $100 Visa gift card to the Memorial Day 2011 Flags, Books and Bands fund-raiser, which benefitted plans for a veterans’ memorial in Honeoye Falls and the new library project. (Read a blog post about the WWII vet who won the card.)

Thank you so much, Pittsford FCU, for all you have done and continue to do!

If you or your company would like to sponsor Heart Beats for Mendon–or to donate an item for the live or silent auction–please email me.
