Tomorrow’s Mr. HFL Contest to Support Gaming Library

Contestant James Spencer (left) and Mr. DeCarlo (Duke) in last year's Mr. HFL event gave people reason to smile.

For the sixth year in a row, the HFL Interact club has scoured the high school halls and surveyed the cafeteria, interviewed, auditioned and rehearsed some of the the best stage acts  this side of Honeoye Creek.

See them all perform at the gala “Mr. HFL” pageant, and vie for the grand prize donated by Five Star Bank of Honeoye Falls, at 7 p.m. tomorrow, March 10, at the high school auditorium.

Tickets are $7 at the door. All proceeds will benefit the James Spencer Memorial Scholarship Fund and the Mendon Public Library’s gaming library for young people.

Don’t miss it! You’ll be entertained like never before.

Last year’s Mr. HFL raised $2,000 for the Peter J Cannon Scholarship Fund, and the DEAAF program in Zambia. See YouTube videos of last year’s contestants. See Mr. HFL photos on the Rotary Interact Facebook page.

I’d love to hear more about this “gaming library”!

Christy, The idea of the gaming library is to have available electronic games for teens to play when they come to the library after school, in the evening, on weekends or during the summer. This fits right in with the thinking that the library can be a safe haven for kids when school is not in session. The details will be forthcoming as library staff decide which games to add to the collection. Lisa
